Inspired by the story of Johnny Appleseed and the season of apple harvests, this special Enrichment Friday combines science, engineering, math, creativity, and plenty of apple-themed fun into one exciting day! Students will investigate real apples, experiment with different materials, tackle STEM challenges, and discover the fascinating science hiding inside one of fall's favorite fruits.
Designed for homeschool students ages 5-11, Johnny Appleseed STEM Day gives children the opportunity to learn through experimenting, building, predicting, measuring, observing, and creating. We'll explore everything from how apples grow to the properties that make them sink, float, balance, stack, and change!
Along the way, students will also learn about Johnny Appleseed and apple orchards, bringing together history, science, and hands-on learning for a truly memorable fall experience.
